How accurate are dog detectors?

KPI detection dogs can typically pinpoint leaks within a meter or less. Pipeline leak detection dogs are trained to indicated at the the most concentrated source of the leak therefore dig time and man power is minimized when canines are used. A properly trained KPI dog can detect at essentially a 100% success rate.

Do you use Mercaptan?

No. Our specialized odorant system was developed by Exxon Mobil and Imperial Oil. This industry approved odorant can be used and detected up to the deepest depth of any existing oil or gas pipeline. Mercaptan has several unfavorable qualities that make it an inferior choice for K9 leak detection surveys.
